Hold and Ring is the main bonus in Golden Dragon Deluxe. It is triggered by 6 Bonus symbols (gold coins) in one spin and plays on a separate screen with a 5×4 grid of 20 positions.

Triggering Hold and Ring

You need 6 gold coin Bonus symbols to land anywhere on the 5×4 grid in a single base-game spin. There is an alternative path: 5 Bonus symbols plus 1 Boost Symbol also activates the mode. The Boost Symbol counts as a sixth Bonus for the purposes of the trigger.

This trigger condition is not common. Expect to wait an average of many spins between activations — but when it triggers naturally, it tends to feel earned.

How re-spins work

Once Hold and Ring begins, you start with 3 re-spins. The 20 grid positions are active and any Bonus or Mystery Symbol that lands locks in place. Each new symbol that lands resets your re-spin counter back to 3.

The round ends when you run out of re-spins without a new symbol landing. The total value of all locked symbols is then paid out.

Jackpot prizes

Mystery Symbols locked during Hold and Ring reveal one of four prize values at the end of the round: Minor (25× bet), Major (30× bet), Maxi (100× bet), or Grand (1,000× bet). The Grand Jackpot is only paid when all 20 grid positions are filled — a rare event, but the reason this mode exists.

Reaching the Grand Jackpot

Filling all 20 positions is hard. It requires a chain reaction of new symbols landing and repeatedly resetting the counter. The best way to approach Hold and Ring is to treat everything short of Grand as a nice bonus and view the Grand as a longshot that occasionally comes in.
