How Hold and Ring Works

The Hold and Ring feature is Golden Dragon Deluxe's signature bonus mode — Zillion Games' take on the popular Hold and Win mechanic. Unlike many modern slots, Golden Dragon Deluxe does not offer a Bonus Buy option, meaning you must trigger this feature naturally through gameplay.

The bonus activates when you land 6 or more bonus symbols (golden coins) in a single spin, or when you collect 5 bonus symbols plus one Boost symbol. When triggered, the game transitions to a special screen where only coins and jackpot symbols can appear.

You start with 3 respins. Every time a new coin or jackpot symbol lands on the grid, your respin counter resets to 3. The goal is to fill as many of the 20 grid positions as possible before your respins run out.

Coin Values and Jackpots

Each golden coin that appears during Hold and Ring carries a credit multiplier value displayed in jade-green numbers. Values observed include 20×, 40×, 60×, 80×, 100×, 120×, and 140× your bet. At the end of the feature, all visible coin values are summed and paid out.

Four jackpot tiers can also land during the feature:

• Grand Jackpot — 20,000× your bet. Awarded when all 20 grid positions are filled with coins/jackpots.
• Maxi Jackpot — 2,000× your bet. Lands as a special symbol during respins.
• Major Jackpot — 600× your bet. More frequent than Grand or Maxi.
• Minor Jackpot — 480× your bet. The most common jackpot tier.

The theoretical maximum win from a single Hold and Ring session is 1,300× your bet, combining coin values with potential jackpot hits.

Boost Symbol Advantage

The Boost Symbol is unique to the Deluxe version and serves as a wildcard entry into the Hold and Ring feature. When 5 bonus coins appear alongside a Boost symbol, the feature triggers just as if you'd landed 6 coins — giving you an extra path into the bonus round.

During Free Spins, the Boost Symbol becomes even more powerful. It works in combination with walking wilds and can trigger additional free spins when paired with 3 scatter symbols. This creates a chain reaction where Free Spins can lead into Hold and Ring, which can lead to jackpots — the game's highest-paying sequence.
